Eric Chavez ripped 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI and Kent Mercker pitched 3 strong
innings as the Santa Fe Trailer Bitches beat the Tampico Stogies in 11
innings by a score of 10 to 8.

The score was tied at 7 after nine. Santa Fe was victorious in the 11th
inning. Melvin Mora got things rolling when he blasted a solo shot (his 2nd
of the season). Todd Helton next to the plate and he drew a walk. After an
out was recorded, Chavez stepped up to the plate and he blasted a two-run
home run (his 5th of the season) giving Santa Fe the win and sending the home
town fans into a frenzy. This was the kind of game that many fans love as
the lead changed hands 5 times.

The win was credited to Jake Westbrook(2-3) who went 1 inning allowing no
runs. The losing pitcher was Scott Dohmann(0-1) in relief.
